A new study has identified 16 conditions - including diabetes, heart disease and hearing loss - that could have an impact on someone's risk of developing a form of dementia. Dementia serves as an umbrella term for a range of neurological and neurodegenerative conditions, and its prevalence is rising across the UK. Current data reveal that close to one million people in Britain are living with some form of the condition, with Alzheimer's disease being the most prevalent. These figures are expected to rise in the years ahead.
