Bacterial Infection Hypothesis-Based Therapies for Alzheimer's Disease

Alzheimer's disease (AD) is a prevalent neurodegenerative disorder, and its incidence is increasing as the global population ages. Despite extensive research on amyloid β and Tau-related pathology, no effective therapeutics are available to treat AD. Certain bacterial infections have been proposed to underlie the occurrence and exacerbation of AD. Accordingly, antibacterial therapies have exhibited beneficial effects in AD.
