Omega-3 supplements are widely regarded as a simple way to support brain health, especially with age. The supplements are part of a daily routine built around heart, joint, eye, and brain health. Fish oil, krill oil, and flaxseed oil capsules are among the most widely used nonvitamin supplements, especially among older adults who take them in hopes of staying mentally sharp. But a new study suggests that, for some people, the relationship between omega-3 supplements and brain aging may not be so simple.
